Hello! My name is Jim Zons, and I am running for reelection to the Dunn County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors, representing District 6. I was first elected in 2016, and I consider it an honor to serve as your representative, and I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday, April 2, 2024! I believe in good government and serving the residents of Dunn County in the following ways:
- Improving the Quality of Tainter Lake. As a 32 year Tainter Lake resident, improving the quality of this outstanding recreational treasure is of utmost importance to me. As a county board member, I have supported policies that enhance water quality throughout the county. In addition, I am the county’s representative on the newly formed Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District which is laser-focused on improving many aspects of Tainter Lake, from sedimentation, to vegetation, to no wake zones and boat landings. Make Tainter Lake Less Green Again!
- Fixing the damn roads! I voted to fix County Road B (the most traveled county road in Dunn County) with a portion of the work already completed in 2023, and the rest starting this year. It’s about time, and I helped get it done!
- Expanding Broadband Internet. I serve on the Dunn County Broadband Taskforce and helped attract several national grants that were awarded to expand broadband to many parts of Dunn County … and we’re just getting started!
- No Tax Increases. I voted to not raise property taxes for Dunn County residents for the 2024 budget, and it is my goal to minimize or eliminate future tax increases as we move forward!
- Increased Revenue for the County. To bring in MORE county revenue, I voted for the Elk Creek Solar project. Not only will this project deliver sustainable energy for Dunn County residents, it will also generate approximately $918,000 in additional revenue each year (that’s over $32 MILLION over the length of the contract!)
- County Leadership. I am currently chair of the Community Resources and Tourism Committee, dedicated to promoting tourism and economic development in Dunn County. I also serve on the Dunn County Committee for Administration, the Executive Committee, the Dunn County Broadband Taskforce, and I am the county’s appointed representative on the Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District. Experience and leadership working for YOU!
